What this extension does

Language Tutor translates text in your browser automtically and provides an easy way to extend your vocabulary.

Data we process

• Every nth word on screen as setup in settings
• Language settings (e.g., source and target language).
• Technical metadata (e.g., IP address, user-agent) that your browser sends to the translation API when making a request.

Purpose

We use this data only to request a translation and show the result to you.

Where the data goes

To provide translations, the selected text is sent to:

• LibreTranslate (open-source translation service)

Storage & retention

• We do not store your queries or translations on our servers.
• No persistent logs are kept by the extension.
• Any temporary caching occurs locally in your browser and is cleared by normal browsing data cleanup.

Security

Requests are sent over HTTPS.

Your choices

• You can disable remote translation lookups in the extension’s options.
• You can uninstall the extension at any time to stop all processing.

Children’s privacy

This extension is not directed to children under 13.
